SOUNDPROOFING MATS Soundproofing Mats have excellent sound insulating properties. Soundproofing mats can be used as a sole sound barrier layer, or as part of a multilayer composite with other materials such as sound absorbing foam and carpet. These soundproofing mat sheets are extremely effective at improving the sound insulation properties of lightweight plasterboard partitions, floors and almost anything else !! Two to three layers can be used on hard floors to reduce noise transfer dramatically. |
|
It can be used in ceiling constructions, walls etc. and can almost double the soundproofing performance of a standard lightweight stud partition. Soundproofing mat is particularly effective at reducing the critical dip (or coincidence) frequency which is always present in standard plasterboard constructions as well as increasing the low frequency performance. Many construction materials and techniques don't provide enough soundproofing isolation. Rigid surfaces such as plasterboard, (including multiple layers), or even a block wall will absorb little sound energy. This is because solid rigid materials still actually tend to vibrate and re-radiate sound on the other side. Soundproofing mat however has tremendous density and mass and will absorb sound energy far better than solid materials ever will. Soundproofing mat is not only an incredible soundproofing material but can be easily installed without construction changes, special tools, or skilled labour. INSTALLATION Simply lay down the mats butted tightly together. Joints should ideally be taped with our 75mm wide aluminium duct tape. Sheets should be butted up to the edges of the room with any cutting required being done where the sheets meets in the middle of the room. Successive layers should be alternated i.e. lay the first layer from left to right and the second layer from back to front to that any seams are not directly under each other. |

Recently we have had customers assume that these mats will also be suitable for uprating concrete floors and walls - this is not the case. They should only be used for lightweight stud partitions or wooden floors otherwise the improvement gained will not be enough. For concrete walls you need to use our M20 panels or our resilient bar system and for concrete floors you need to look at our Quietfloor Slabs or our IsoBase R50 systems. | |

T50 High Performance Acoustic Membrane Range |
|
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
T50 and TS50 are a polymer-based, asphalt-free, high density synthetic soundproofing membrane, that offers good acoustic insulation in different building elements. It has extremely high visco-elasticity as well as being extremely flexible even in cold temperatures. Available in plain (T50) or peel of self-adhesive backed rolls (TS50). PROPERTIES
Fire Performance Euroclass B, s2, d0 in accordance with EN 13823. (Class0 to the UK equivalent)
Worthy of note is that the tests were carried out directly on the product with no incombustible protection such as laminated plasterboard or metal plate and, on the self adhesive version, which makes the result all the more significant! |
